MY MAKEUP COLLECTION PART 1 (SEPTEMBER 2011)

Hey guys!!
So today I'm going to be starting my makeup collection series. Personally I love watching makeup collection videos and reading makeup collection posts. In this post I will be just talking about the makeup I keep in the bathroom for everyday use. The products vary, but most of the time you will see these guys in my drawer.

For bathroom makeup I keep all of the products in a knit "pouch?" I'm not sure how to describe it. All of my brushes are kept in a Harajuku Plastic pencil case holder that my friend bought me from Sephora.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Original
MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 in NC20
MAC Studio Fix Plus Powder Foundation in C4
Stila Illuminating Finishing Powder in Gold
MAC Mineralize Blush in Warmth of Coral
NARS Bronzer in Laguna
Make Up For Ever HD Powder
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

My prep, prime, and seal products. I apply Smashbox's primer everyday to make my makeup glide on and last all day. My Make Up For Ever powder is used to seal all of my face products in, and I spray the Urban Decay setting spray on my skin after I apply all of my makeup.

MAC face products are my go to. The concealer is a lighter shade to help brighten my under eye dark circles and create a matte highlight on my skin. The foundation is for any spot treatment, it's lightweight, opaque, but not thick, cakey coverage.

My current "trio" for highlighter, blush, bronzer. I actually used to DETEST the Stila powder because I thought it was too glittery. I find if I apply a little bit with a small headed stippling brush on the apples of my cheeks under blush it gives the best glow. Any orange based blush looks better on my golden based skin tone, so I love this melange of pink, peach, orange, ivory, and brown. Warmth of Coral was a limited edition product, which is so disappointing because it's so pretty. My NARS bronzer is well loved and adds the perfect amount of definition to my skin.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

This is my newest palette and fourth palette for Urban Decay. This also happens to be the only limited edition palette, but I had to buy it because the packaging and eyeshadow colors are SO amazing. You get 14 highly pigmented shadows, Urban Decay really worked hard on these ones because they are so smooth and bright. Even better than some of my other Urban Decay palettes. So far I really love the shade Flow, or the golden peachy shade. I've been using Ace in a bunch of my looks, but I want to try them all out.

My first Urban Decay palette, the Ammo Palette. This guy has ten eyeshadows, I've used up all of Sin and Oil Slick. (The lid is all dirty and black because I use it as a mixing area.) The other 8 eyeshadows have also been pretty well used, especially Chopper. I've had this for at least 2(ish?) years.

Definitely my a favorite, the Urban Decay Naked Palette has 12 FULL SIZED eyeshadows. Yeah. I was one of the first people to nab this the day it came out, I had to go to two different stores. I love Virgin, the pale highlight shade, I use it everyday. Half Baked, the gold, as you can tell is also well loved. Darkhorse is also a classic shade that works well with any look.

Another newer palette!! I love all of the shades in this from Too Faced, I would like to point out that Silk Teddy is an exact dupe for Sin (in the Urban Decay Naked/Ammo Palettes) and Honey Pot is an exact dupe for Half Baked (in the Urban Decay Naked Palette).  I love the three matte shades on top, I use Heaven as a brow highlight everyday. Sexpresso is also a shade that goes well with everything - best creamy dark matte brown - so pigmented.

This is probably my least favorite Urban Decay palette (even though I still love it a bunch!!) just because these are "Deluxe Shadows" and have a different formulation from the normal ones. They have a bouncier sheerer feeling when applied, if that makes sense. I love the brights in this, Fishnet and Ransom look amazing with brown eyes. I love Graffiti blended with the other colors in this palette too.

This is my first and only Kat Von D palette which I love. I purchased it because it was on sale half price at Sephora, and I thought it was quite a deal for such bright, beautiful colors. The formulations on these eyeshadows are SUPER PIGMENTED, but they are a lot powdery and can get a bit fallout happy. The turquoise shade is a cream shadow. This palette looks almost untouched, but that's because you need such a tiny amount for good color payoff. I love Sugar Skull, the white gold shade. Prague, the deep burgundy, is gorgeous; Sister, the matte peach, is also another favorite.

My top 5 mascara choices. It sounds weird but I layer all of these on everyday. Why? I have tiny short straight eye lashes and this makes them pop out a lot more. I begin with Dior DiorShow Extase because the formula has a lengthening serum that made my lashes super long, full, and black. I stopped using it but I started up again because my eyelashes are back to their old short self. Next Fairydrops Scandal Queen because it's a fiber mascara, this means that tiny black bits will attach to your lashes making them look super long. This creates an almost false lash look. For fullness and volume I wiggle Sephora Lash Plumper along the roots, its has a great smooth formula. Next MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash to define, un-clump, and lengthen the lashes. To finish I apply Dior DiorShow Blackout to make lashes extremely dark.

For eyeliner I use all four types: pencil, liquid, gel, and powder. I use Stila Kajal Liner along the tightline because it's extremely creamy. Other liners are waterproof, which give them a denser formula. This one doesn't smudge or budge on the waterlines and still is so creamy and pitch black. I use Urban Decay's liquid liner for super precise lines along the upper lash line and Clinique's gel liner for the water line so it won't budge. I set the liquid and gel liner with Urban Decay's Oil Slick, a sheer black flecked with glitter. It makes the eyes sexy and smokey.

Some basic prepping products. I use Urban Decay's eye primer to keep my eyeshadows vibrant and crease free. For my eyebrows I use my finger to run some beeswax lipbalm through them which keeps hairs in place. I mix Make Up For Ever Eye Seal with Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Oil Slick and apply it along the lash line. This makes the eyeshadow waterproof so it won't leak out of your eyes throughout the day, which used to be a huge problem for me.

Some fun eyeliners, I love Urban Decay's Heavy Metal Glitter Liners, I have three of them. Distortion is blue, hot pink, and white glitter, which looks stunning on the eyes. Fascinating by MAC is a white pencil and 1999 by Urban Decay is a pretty burgundy purple shade.

For lips MAC Lustre Drops is one of holy grail products. The tiniest drop of this dotted along the cupids bow and center of your lips make them look amazing. The pinky gold shimmer makes lips perfectly kissable! I slather on Supergoop Acai Fusion Lip Balm SPF 35 with Shea Butter for moisturized lips. Maybelline ColorSensational Lip Stain in 105 In The Buff is light dusty mauve that makes my lips about a shade darker than the shade they are. This lip stain is so lightweight and lasts all day, definitely my favorite so far. Smashbox's Lip Enhancing Gloss - Sheer Color in Hype is a matching hue. If you've heard of NARS' gloss in Dolce Vita, this is a lighter version.

Face brushes I use everyday...
Stila 26 Brush - apply foundation on acne, dark spots, redness.
Borghese 100 Round Kabuki Brush - buff foundation all over or blend out foundation.
Sephora I.T. Professional Stippling Brush - apply powder highlighter.
L.E.I.F. On Location Makeup Equipment Blush Brush - apply powder blush.
Borghese 102 Round Foundation Brush - apply creamy concealer along the hollows of your face.
Borghese 104 Angled Contour Brush - apply powder bronzer.

L.E.I.F. On Location Makeup Equipment Crease Brush - apply powder brow highlight.
L.E.I.F. On Location Makeup Equipment Shader Brush - apply powder eyeshadow.
MAC 208 Brush (I have two of them) - apply gel liner or cream eyeshadow along the waterline.
Sephora Dual Ended Smoky Eye Brush, angled side - apply the mixture of Eye Seal and Oil Slick onto the water line.
L.E.I.F. On Location Makeup Equipment Liner Brush - apply powder eyeshadow along the inner corners and inner lower lash line.
Sephora Dual Ended Everyday Eye Brush, smudger side - apply eyeshadow along the inner corners.
Sephora Dual Ended Everyday Eye Brush, shader side - blend out eyeshadow on the lid.
Sephora Angled Liner 110 Brush - smudge powder shadow over liquid liner.

Wooh!!! So much makeup. Most of these products were purchased by myself, either that they were given as a gift. I'll be doing reviews on some of these products... eventually!!

xoxo,
gracie
